Constructed in the spring of 2023 and built in partnership with the Ministry of Long-Term Care, Infrastructure Ontario, the Ministry of Health and EllisDon, Humber Meadows Long-Term Care Home (Humber Meadows LTC) is a fully integrated, 320-bed long-term care facility located in the north-west corner of the City of Toronto.
After fostering a long-term partnership and delivering an enterprise digital signage solution and services to the affiliated Humber River Hospital, Capital Networks and our Audience™ digital signage platform were chosen to spearhead a hosted digital signage initiative for this new facility.
With a commitment to offering residents a high-quality and healthy lifestyle, Humber Meadows LTC sought a dependable and efficient communication solution for disseminating public and staff information throughout the facility. Prioritizing real-time scheduling updates for its diverse array of daily events and social activities, the initial digital signage installation scope encompassed four distinct screen layouts:
• 1 large format (55”) single screen located in the facilities main entrance
• 1 large format (55”) single screen located at the building’s main floor elevator
• 10 small format (24”) single screens located outside of activity rooms throughout the venue
• 10 small format (24”) single screens located outside of medication/nursing stations throughout the venue
The pair of public-facing 55” screens are used for a combination of welcoming, general information and event updates with content being posted once but shared across the two displays when applicable.
The ten activity room screens display up-to-the-minute scheduling information for each of the individual rooms, with the Audience™ CMS seamlessly integrating with the venue’s existing ActivityPro calendar generating software, for simple implementation and ease of use.
The ten back-of-house screens installed outside the medication/nursing stations keep employees informed with schedules, venue updates and staff-specific information.
The Audience™ CMS’s compatibility with a diverse range of hardware and software solutions—such as LG WebOS monitors, Bluefin monitors with BrightSign OS, ActivityPro software, and automated data feeds—delivered the flexibility needed for Humber Meadows LTC’s initial installation. This versatility ensures scalability for future digital signage communication endeavors.
