Capital Networks Brings Communication Signage to York Region

The Regional Municipality of York (York Region) is using the Audience™ CMS to drive both interior and outdoor LED digital signage at the newly constructed York Region Administrative Centre Annex in Newmarket, ON.

Located at the busy intersection of Yonge and Eagle streets in the Town of Newmarket, the administrative centre provides access to community, health and court services to the 1.2 million residents that live in the region.

York Region deployed an on-premise Audience™ digital signage configuration to support an interactive wayfinding, floor level passive wayfinding and an outdoor LED display.

The interactive kiosk, located in main lobby of the new facility at 17150 Yonge St., is a two-side touchscreen kiosk offering visitors the ability to search the building information and directions. The direction information is provided through a series of facility maps which highlight the floor and specific area the selected department is located.

All the information on the displays are provided in both English and French, which users are able to choose their preference with the click of a button.

In addition to the interactive lobby display, York Region recently added a large-scale outdoor LED display also using the Audience™ CMS deployment. Located outside the facility at 17250 Yonge St., this large format LED display provides community news and service updates to pedestrians and motorists in the high-traffic area.
