City of Cornwall Continues to Expand Digital Signage Communications Using Audience™

The City of Cornwall is one of the largest cities in Eastern Ontario providing municipal services and community programs to more than 46, 000 residents.

After successfully winning an RFP issued in 2020 seeking the procurement of services to supply, install, and support digital signage displays within several recreational facilities, Capital Networks continues to assist the City as they expand their communication efforts to other municipal venues using the Audience™ digital signage platform.

The original RFP project involved a solution for scheduling, wayfinding and general information on displays throughout three of the city’s recreation facilities.

Project Details:

The Audience™ platform was integrated with a combination of pre-existing and new hardware including a combination of LG WebOS and BrightSign media players depending on the specific requirements for individual displays.

Displays consist of a series of 55”, wall-mounted screens wrapped in enclosures for protection within high-volume, public spaces.

The Audience™ platform was seamlessly integrated with the city’s existing Xplor Recreation (formerly PerfectMind) facility scheduling system.

Content scheduling and management is efficiently distributed to individual screens throughout the various venues using the powerful keyword tool within the Audience™ platform.

In 2023, Capital Networks assisted Cornwall with expanding their digital signage communications to the city’s Social and Housing Services offices. In both cases, the Audience™ platform was integrated with systems and tools already in use by several of the city’s municipal departments allowing for a highly efficient installation and ongoing workflow.

Services Provided by Capital Networks:

Creative – custom presentation template and content input templates

Training – overview for new information stakeholders

Support – remote technical launch support

Installation Services – on-site installation and commissioning of equipment

With these two successful digital signage projects now fully operational, Cornwall plans to once again use the Audience™ platform and services provided by Capital Networks as they look to implement a staff-facing network of screens within Cornwall Transit operations facilities, scheduled for early 2024.
